Seriously excited at being cast as Fabian the Blacksmith in THE BLACKSMITH WHO CHASED THE MOON at THE CUT in Halesworth this Christmas. Last time I worked with the director, Cordelia, she tied a scarf around my legs, drew whiskers on my face - and forced me to make ridiculous seal noises. I can only hope returning to Norfolk and working with her again will prove just as batty.

REVIEWS

LOVE BITTEN (Short Film by Dan Allen / Major Zeus)

BRASSED OFF (Derby Theatre) 2023

East Midlands Theatre
“Thomas Wingfield’s portrayal of Andy is energetic and sincere.”
Charlotte Denton
British Theatre Guide
“Thomas Wingfield revels in the role of Andy, Gloria’s boyhood sweetheart”
Steve Orme
Beyond The Curtain
“Wingfield shows Andy’s growing fondness for Gloria with subtlety, and we also feel for his growing dispute between his morals and his love for his love interest”
Bethany Hill

ROMEO & JULIET (Actors From The London Stage USA Tour, 2022-23)

Utah Theatre Bloggers
"Wingfield was incredibly present in each moment. His fierce anger was seared out of his eyes in killing Tybalt and immediately returned to shock and remorse. Wingfield was gentle in his romantic encounters while being roguish and playful as he broke the fourth wall during the balcony scene. In a production with five supremely trained actors, his Romeo was a standout and a truly sympathetic character because Wingfield highlights Romeo’s virtues and made his eventual tragic death all the more painful."
Scott Savage

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (Pop-Up Globe, Auckland, New Zealand, 2019)

Broadway World
“Undoubted talents and scene stealers Dogberry (Thomas Wingfield) and Verges (Darcy Kent) weave their energetic slapstick humour throughout the play.”
Monica Moore
The Speakeasy
“… cracking up at the comedic relief offered by the two dingbat Police officers (Thomas Wingfield & Darcy Kent). Their crazy antics helped balanced the tone of the play, punctuating the weighty text with some much appreciated physical comedy.”
Liz Lauder
13th Floor
“… provides maximum laughs especially from some of the acrobatic routines from Dogberry (Thomas Wingfield) and Verges (Darcy Kent).”
Veronica McLaughlin
Keeping up with NZ
“… this cast deliver an absolute pearl of a performance, starting with Thomas Wingfield and Darcy Kent, who set the bar very high as Dogberry and Verges from the very get-go …”
Mike Hales

ROMEO AND JULIET (Pop-Up Globe, Auckland, New Zealand, 2019)

Broadway World
“Other outstanding performances amongst a very talented cast come from Benvolio (Thomas Wingfield) and larger-than-life Mercutio (Rutene Spooner), who are totally credible in their roles, with skillful comic delivery as well as subtle sensitivity, balancing the complexity of many of Shakespeare's characters.”
Monica Moore

A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM (Pop Up Globe, Sydney, Australia)

Australian Stage
“... particular plaudits go to the hilarious Thomas Wingfield and Max Loban as Helena and Hermia respectively ... under Gregory’s direction do a good job of avoiding one of the frequent pitfalls of other productions of this play which deliver bland and insufficiently differentiated performative characterisations of these lovers, such that the male and female roles can seem almost interchangeable.”
Jack Teiwes
Stage Whispers
“... the all-male team go full speed ahead and you hardly notice what’s missing, so self-consciously skilled are Helena (Thomas Wingfield) and Hermia (Max Loban)”
Frank Hatherley
Audrey Journal
“British actors Thomas Wingfield (Helena) and Max Loban (Hermia) develop an unexpectedly warm and immediate relationship with the crowd. The groudling women seemed to adore them on this occasion and were vocal in their appreciation of their plight.”
Jason Blake
Arts Review
“... the female roles of Helena, Hermia and a delightfully rotund Titania, were played by men, (Thomas Wingfield, Max Loban and Asalema Tofete respectively), who, while assiduously avoiding the temptation to camp up their roles, found plenty of nuances in their lines with which to convulse their knowing audience.”
Bill Stephens OAM
TimeOut
“At least the drag on show in A Midsummer Night’s Dream is exactly what you want drag to be: it mocks the performance of gender but stops short of mocking women.”
Ben Neutze

A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM (Pop Up Globe, Auckland, New Zealand)

NZ Herald
“Helena (Thomas Wingfield) follows in dogged determination to win Demetrius. These performances are almost flawless. Endless energy, witty verbal barbs and brilliant physicality, allows the Bard’s words to roll of their tongues with charming ease and simplicity”
Dione Joseph

LOVE IN THE TIME OF GILMORE GIRLS (Theatre 503 / My mate Dave)

The Stage
"Thomas Wingfield plays out these failures with just the right amount of reserve."
"It would be easy to play James simply for laughs, or even just for sympathy, but Wingfield plays straight, retaining the honesty of the writing."
Paul Vale
British Theatre Guide
"Wingfield creates a likeable James but also a frustrating one. The way the anecdotes are recalled is beautifully cringeworthy and makes makes you want to both sympathise and give the character a good shake at the same time."
Amy Yorston
The Scotsman
"... given an earnest and sometimes comic performance by Thomas Wingfield, who brings a nervous charm to the rather unlikeable James."
Billy Barrett

FORGOTTEN (Stuff of Dreams Theatre)

fabulousnorfolk.co.uk/review-forgotten
"Thomas Wingfield had a pathos that was palpable and his ageing was deft and believable."
Simon Morgan

THE BLACKSMITH WHO CHASED THE MOON (Stuff of Dreams Theatre)

simonmichaelmorgan.blogspot.co.uk
"There are notable performances, namely Thomas Wingfield as Fabian, the titular Blacksmith, whose moments of physical comedy are balanced well with pathos."
Simon Morgan
